To Catch A Killer (released 4/21/23)
This was more of a statement piece than a full-fledged crime thriller. There were heavy references to the arguments involving guns, as well as mental health. The premise is someone with brain damage decides to kill innocent, random people. The news and radio argue about the accessibility and over-purchasing of guns. The plot itself just serves as a way to tell the story of a damaged killer. The conclusions by the protagonists are kind of lucky jumps that keep the story going. The good guys have their own issues like a cop who has been a drug abuser and a cutter, and a chief that bends the knee to the bureaucracy rather than doing the correct thing. It's ok to have flaws but they literally compare the main cop to a criminal psychologically. It was an ok movie that just coasts on the mystery of who could kill so precisely but randomly at the same time. Maybe catch this one on streaming down the line.
