This feels like a more true-to-form Marvel movie. The fact a newcomer steals the show over Captain Marvel is working for and against it. Kamala and Monica being involved humanizes Carol a bit because in her eyes she sees 2 kids: one from 30ish years ago and a newcomer that is obsessed with her. Kamala’s family is great as always and a key part of the humorous side of the film. Giving Brie Larson a singing section was a great choice as she is a pretty good artist. The villain definitely feels like a Ronin copycat who just feels like the opposite end of the spectrum in goals but the same in achieving them. Both want a powerful artifact to do something for the Kree. This time around the goal is to save a planet of Kree people Carol unknowingly doomed when she destroyed the Central Intelligence. The action is great and the future movie setups for Kamala and Monica are great and exciting. Carol just kinda chills on Earth at the end until they need her in a 3rd movie or an Avengers movie. It’s shorter but that means no fluff. It is a great time.
