Superman and the Mole-men (1951)
For context, this was more of an extended pilot than a proper movie, but I wanted to see George Reeves version. This kicked off his show and I don’t hate it. It was definitely a product of the time so the camera style and effects are cheesy and dated. For what it was, I think it did an awesome job. The one thing I don’t like (it’s more of just how acting used to be) is how bland the acting is. Everyone is too stiff and proper about everything. That can be said about a lot of movies from the day. I loved the theme of people being terrified of the unknown and that fear causes that very thing to become reality. Don’t automatically fear something just because it’s unknown to you. This is definitely held back by the times, but it is still worth a watch.
