Secret Invasion (2023)

The show’s premise and first episode initially had me invested. The show quickly deteriorated and just felt lost. Secret Invasion is at the very least a Captain America: Civil War-sized movie. But what they gave us was a drama with a little action to bring your attention back in. The acting is so phenomenal but the material they were working with is so bland. I remember one YouTuber mentioning this feels like Captain Marvel 2 without Captain Marvel and that is pretty accurate. The effects are hit or miss, especially in the obligatory super fight in the last episode. This had all the potential in the world, but this will end up like Moon Knight for me. I will probably only watch it again the next time I do a Super MCU marathon. It just felt out of place and didn’t hit right.
