This was a much better movie than I anticipated. The premise is essentially this interpreter in Afghanistan brought a wounded soldier over 100 miles of rough terrain with the Taliban on their heels. The soldier was thankful and made his next mission to get the interpreter and his family safely to the US and away from the Taliban which had a price for both their heads. It's a great story of honesty and perseverance. You always became terrified every time a Taliban truck came around which was very often. It is intense in terms of action and the "will they survive this?" I especially praise Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim for their unreal performances. You could see the stress and pain the characters went through in these horrible circumstances. This is a well-made film and should be seen at some point. A side note: While this is not a biopic, it was based on the real issue of how things worked out for interpreters during the US time in Afghanistan and their eventual departure.
