Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)

This is the best Ghostbusters movie in the franchise up to this point. It took the magic of the original while actually giving us more character moments. There is emotion and humor and nostalgia. It does everything right. Paul Rudd is an adorable goofball. Mckenna Grace is a straight-up badass. Finn Wolfhard is…there. This is very much a movie about Mckenna’s character and her grandfather. It has a beautiful send-off for Harold Ramis who gets one last chance to be a ghostbuster as a CGI ghost. It was made to be a full-circle movie but left the door open for sequels. If future movies have the same love and passion for the franchise as this one, they will only become more beloved. If nothing else, watch the original movie and this one. It has the same villain but they each have their own style to make them unique enough to make it worthwhile to see both.
