Ghostbusters (2016)

I think this movie gets more hate than it deserves. I think there are 2 things that turned people off. The female leads went against the male lead-dominated Hollywood. I think the more subtle problem is this felt like a high-budget SNL sketch. SNL in my opinion is just meh across the board. This movie has very uneven quality in humor but this very much wanted to pay homage to the franchise. It has all of the OGs in cameo roles. It brought the magic of being a ghostbuster and made it look even more badass thanks to improved effects. Chris Hemsworth was odd because he worked but didn’t at the same time. It went a little too himbo and should have kept him a jock who needs a job and not a beefy dork. I loved the finale more than anything. My boy Patrick Stump reimagining the classic theme is awesome. That being said, the OG is in this movie too which can’t be beaten. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and think it deserves more love.
