Book Club (2018)
There is something fascinating about the “Golden Girls” genre. A group of old ladies decides to stop with their normal routine and try to recapture their youthful, fun spirit. This is basically that. After reading 50 Shades of Grey, these ladies have a sexual reawakening…which is an uncomfortable sentence to write. They are mature ladies and can do what they please. I just don’t need the images in my head. Anyway, it goes about how you expect. Things go well. Everything is fresh and new. They freak out and cause an end-of-act 2 problem. It all gets resolved after they have an emergency freakout meeting. It is just one of those heartwarming dramedies. If you are of the older variety, this will be up your alley. I’ll stick to the Sandra Bullock Rom-Com movies.
