Big George Foreman (released 4/28/23)

Full Disclosure, I did a stupid and went to a Spanish showing of this movie with no subtitles. But with my limited Spanish knowledge and context from the scenes, I was able to follow along okay. I was shocked at how by the numbers the movie is. I was alone in the theatre so I followed the Wikipedia page on his life as the movie progressed. It played out more like a memoir by Foreman rather than a Hollywood dramatization of his life. It was like watching small clips in his life that would probably stick out if you remembered them from your own. The acting was great. The boxing was weird because it felt too realistic and sluggish. The Rocky/Creed movies made boxing seem exciting and energized. You don’t really feel the hits or urgency as much in this movie. The trailer for the movie basically gives you the movie outline but without some of the character moments. It’s an okay biopic. This is definitely more for Foreman fans or people that just wanna learn about his life.
