They forgot to market this as a Hercule Poirot film. The marketing leaned so heavily into the horror side of it that you would easily forget that it is a mystery film. Hercule Poirot and Benoit Blanc are both great detectives and their films are made with great love and attention to detail. I somehow managed to figure it out at the seance which is the first time everyone is together. It has you guessing throughout and has plenty of jumpscares. I also laughed way too hard from a line that came from a cockatoo. Seeing the mystery unravel and Hercule figuring out how to prove it is not supernatural is fantastic. It used the horror element to its advantage but it was still a proper mystery at the end of the day.
